All About Magical Inns

The Forever Inn, an anthology edited by Donna Royston and David Keener.

I have two stories appearing in the upcoming anthology, The Forever Inn, which is coming out in the second quarter of 2026 from Tannhauser Press. It’s a shared setting anthology, featuring a mysterious inn that appears in different realities throughout the multiverse. My short story, On Fighting Evil, is included in the anthology as a teaser, but is also available online for free.

My other story is a novella called “Hunting Expedition,” which is about what happens when the inn lands in a reality much like the Cretaceous Era. On a safari-like excursion, disaster strikes and a group of staff members and guests are left stranded in the wilderness far from the Forever Inn. But the clock is ticking…if they can’t get back to the inn in time, they’ll be stuck in this reality forever when it leaves.

On the Worlds Enough website, which belongs to the company that packaged the anthology (i.e. – they’re the ones that pay the contributors and editors), they posted a fun blog entry that lists a bunch of the more famous “inns outside of time and space” that have appeared in the SF and Fantasy fields. The first, by the way, seems to be Edmond Hamilton’s “The Inn Outside the World” in the July 1945 issue of Weird Tales.
