I’ve published short stories, novelettes, and novellas in a wide range of venues, from prestigious anthologies paying full professional rates to more lowly paid indie anthologies. On this page, you’ll find all the anthologies in which a story of mine has been published (barring a few from my earliest days as a writer that weren’t professional enough to acknowledge anymore).

Premium Anthologies

Here’s a list of the noteworthy anthologies in which my short stories, novelettes, and novellas have appeared. You’ll also find some of the anthologies for which I’ve served as an editor.

Solar Flare Solar Flare: Seventeen solarpunk stories from cutting edge writers. My contribution is “Dustbowl Detective,” about a futuristic train heist; it’s set in my Inflection Point universe.

Fantastic Detectives Fantastic Detectives: Stories about detectives in fantasy settings, from urban fantasies to exotic worlds. My short story is called “Jonelle Crosse,” set in my Thousand Kingdoms series.

Fantastic Defenders (Cover) Fantastic Defenders: An anthology of five novelettes about heroes defending against fantastical threats. My story in this book is “The Rooftop Game,” a Thousand Kingdoms story.

Second Round (Cover) Second Round: Stories about a magic bar that appears in different times and places, with Gilgamesh as the bartender. My story is “The Whispering Voice,” about a mother, a deadly problem and a forgotten god.

Clocks Clocks: An anthology on the loose theme of clocks. My contribution to the anthology is “Invisible,” a novelette from my Thousand Kingdoms series.
